CIDETRAK® CMDA + OFM MESO™
for Codling Moth, Cydia pomonella, and Oriental Fruit Moth, Grapholita molesta, MD in Apples, Pears, and Stone Fruit
CIDETRAK CMDA + OFM MESO is a high performance dual mating disruption dispenser designed to manage codling moth and oriental fruit moth that significantly reduces trap capture, “mating” and damage with a proper management program!
Codling moth, Cydia pomonella, or CM primarily attacks apples, but can also affect pears, walnuts, plums and quince. Codling moth larvae mainly damage fruit with deep entries and stings. Specifically, larvae penetrate the fruit and tunnel to the core. Conversely, oriental fruit moth larvae feed around the stem end, but not in the core or on seeds. Oriental fruit moth, grapholita molesta, or OFM primary hosts are peach, nectarine, and quince. However, it is also a pest of apple, pear, apricot, plum, and cherry.
The CIDETRAK CMDA + OFM MESO mating disruption Dispenser A contains a unique combination of codling moth pheromone AND a male AND female behavior modifying kairomone called DA (pear ester). The DA kairomone enhances the effect of the codling moth pheromone on male mating disruption. Additionally, DA initiates female mating disruption through behavior changes in the female. Resulting in oviposition disruption, less mating, higher virginity, and lower damage. Dispenser B contains a potent oriental fruit moth pheromone which is to be added to the same patented rotating-hanging device. With the added oriental fruit moth pheromone, you get a “2-for-1” performance you cannot beat to manage codling moth and oriental fruit moth.
CIDETRAK CMDA + OFM MESO delivers exceptional full-season codling moth and oriental fruit moth management through post-harvest. Moreover, outstanding results are achieved with remarkably low dispenser rates and the widest A.I. rate range for apples, pears, and stone fruit. Additionally, the dramatic reduction of dispenser rate and increased performance results in less labor, less insecticide and less damage. Furthermore, the ready-to-use carrier package and patented rotating-hanging device make applications easier. Finally, the low dispenser rate (32/AC or 80/HA), makes it a labor and cost-efficient option.
Overall, CIDETRAK CMDA+ OFM MESO is a crucial tool in an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategy for codling moth and oriental fruit moth.
